Asian business aviation show kicks off in Shanghai
THE 2017 Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition opened this morning at Hongqiao International Airport.
About 170 of the world’s top business aircraft makers and operators displayed 35 planes at the exhibition.
Last year, Shanghai's two airports handled a record of 6,136 business jets, up 10 percent in 2015, according to the Shanghai Airport Authority.
Jiang Huaiyu, director of the East China Regional Administration with the Civil Aviation Administration of China said "it was necessary for Shanghai to build the third airport specially for the general aviation."
"The city's authorities and the administration have begun researching on the plan," he told Shanghai Daily at the sideline of the exhibition.
