Harman showcases premium audio for automobiles

Harman International Industries Inc, a premium global audio and infotainment group, is banking on its status as a thought leader in the audio industry to capture opportunities in the world抯 largest automobile market.
US-headquartered Harman, which owns well-known audio brands including JBL, Harman Kardon, Infinity, AKG, and others, showcased its multimedia and branded car audio products with support from leading automotive OEMs at the Shanghai auto show, which opened on April 20.
The company also displayed its premium JBL audio systems for the Ferrari F12berlinetta model during the 21st Shanghai International Hi-Fi Show earlier this month.
揌arman is a global leader in providing branded car audio products and solutions to automotive manufacturers around the world,?said Chee Meng Koay, vice president and general manager of Harman抯 Lifestyle Division in China.
揟he unmatched leadership is backed by our strong research and development capabilities, excellence in manufacturing and commitment to bring premium sound to drivers and passengers,?he said.
Harman has set up R&D and manufacturing facilities in Shanghai, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Dandong, and currently employs around 2,000 people in China.
Car audio is a major business, and the company provides advanced audio technologies such as QuantumLogic surround sound and GreenEdge, which can achieve power-to-performance efficiencies of up to 90 percent. This is more than double the efficiency of traditional audio systems.

Besides the world抯 major luxury automakers including Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Daimler, Harman has stepped up efforts to provide branded car audio products and services to Chinese domestic automobile OEMs including Geely, BAIC Group, BYD and Great Wall.
揃oth foreign and Chinese drivers have the same pursuit of premium sound quality in the car, and our aim is to help our customers by providing vehicles that can meet consumers?expectations,?Koay added.
Harman will keep scaling up investment in R&D and manufacturing capabilities in China to further boost its market coverage, according to Koay. All Harman抯 three business units, including Infotainment, Lifestyle and Professional, have been present in China, serving a wide spectrum of both B2B customers and consumers.
