Heating and cooling industry experts gather in city

Designing energy-saving air-conditioners is important for the economy and environmental protection since about 40 percent of the city’s electricity is used to power air conditioners during the summer in Shanghai, experts told the International Exhibition for Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, Heating and Ventilation, Frozen Food Processing, Packaging and Storage.

A total of 1,126 producers and sellers from 31 countries and regions gathered at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong New Area for the exhibition that ends on Friday. About 60,000 people from some 100 countries and regions are expected to participate.

The exhibition will feature the latest technologies and a round-table meeting with the United Nations Environment Program for ozone technology and climate change.
