LeEco store debuts in the US
LeEco officially debut its smartphone, TV, online video service and online store in the United States today, the latest Chinese tech firm to penetrate into the US market.
Shenzhen-listed LeEco aims to surpass Samsung to become the US No. 1 TV maker in near future, thanks to competitive prices and full eco-system covering device, software and cloud computing service. LeEco’s US content partners included Showtime, Lionsgate, MGM, Sling, Vice, The Travel Channel and Awesomeness TV.
Meanwhile, it also displayed self-driving car LeSee Pro for the first time in the conference, which was expected to start production next year.
Besides LeEco, Chinese firms including Wanda Group and ZTE have invested heavily in the US market, one of the world’s most important markets with mature consumers. Earlier this week, Dalian-based Wanda founded a US$750 million fund to attract Hollywood production to China.
Starting from November, US consumers will be able to purchase LeEco’s new products, covering 85-inch super high-definition, smartphone with Qualcomm’s latest processor, bike with Android system and coming self-driving car. All consumer electronics devices from the company feature LeEco system and video stream service.
