Mastercard celebrates its birthday in China

MASTERCARD unveiled today the new Mastercard World Card for China as the second-largest US payments network celebrated its 50th birthday globally and 30 years' anniversary in China.
The new Mastercard World Card, the latest effort by Mastercard to further tap the rapidly surging demand among affluent Chinese consumers to travel more and well, will provide an array of premium services as well as discounts and special deals that will make their trips more adventurous and memorable.
China is the only market worldwide where the Mastercard World Card features the premium silver brand logo, which appears only on the World Elite Card in other markets
"While China's premium travel market charts rapid growth of 12 percent annually, Mastercard remains dedicated to providing the best solutions and added-value services to meet the evolving needs and lifestyle trends of affluent consumers," said Dennis Chang, division president of Mastercard China operation.
