More people are ready to turn into tourists
ONLINE sales for airlines and travel agents soar in China in front of the the Golden Week Festival starting from tomorrow, as Chinese consumers take advantage of the week-long public holiday to travel internationally and domestically, online travel agencies and research firms said today.
The online tourism sales recorded a 21 percent surge year-on-year in China in autumn. Airlines in particular have seen their sales take off ahead of this year’s National Day, with the total volume of transactions increasing by nearly a third, according to WorldPay, an industry organization tracking online payment.
Thailand, Japan and South Korea are the top three outbound designations in the national holiday this year. Meanwhile, domestic destinations covering history sites and parks like the Forbidden City and Shanghai Disneyland are also popular choices for tourists, according to a joint survey by the China Tourism Academy and tuniu.com.
