Nepal welcomes Chinese investors

NEPAL welcomes Chinese investors in strengthening bilateral relationship between the two countries, Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said today in Shanghai.

"We welcome more investors for our hydropower projects, tourism industry, infrastructure and agricultural sector," Nepal said when meeting Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng.

Nepal said tourism is an area that the two countries can cooperate for mutual benefits and he welcomes more Chinese tourists in Nepal.

He said Nepal is proud of being China's neighbor and of Chinese leadership in the global financial crisis.

Nepal said his country adheres to the one China policy and recognizes Taiwan and Tibet as inalienable parts of China.

He also said that he is impressed by the development of Shanghai.

Shanghai Mayor Han welcomed Nepal's visit and thanked the country's support for the coming World Expo.

The Nepali prime minister started a six-day visit to China on December 26. Shanghai is the last leg of his visit, following Lhasa, Xi'an, and Beijing.
