‘New gamer’ target
SMARTPHONE vendor Coolpad aims to become a “new gamer” focusing on smartphones with digital entertainment features like high-quality music and e-sports in 2017, new CEO Liu Jiangfeng said yesterday. The Hong Kong-listed company’s new focus came after the company said it expected to lose a record HK$3 billion (US$387 million) this year, a reversal from a net profit of HK$2.3 billion last year.
