Polish president inks business cooperation deals in city

POLAND and China signed several business cooperation agreements today in Shanghai at the start of President Bronislaw Komorowski's official visit – the first top Polish leader to visit China in 14 years.

The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency inked a business memorandum with SANY Group Co Ltd yesterday under the witness of Komorowski. Also, the agency established a partnership with the Shanghai Commission of Commerce to accelerate business collaboration between cities in Poland and Shanghai.

Poland is in the process of privatizing some of its industries, including mining, aviation, apparel and medicine.

Komorowski said Poland warmly welcomed foreign investors to participate in the Polish privatization, and pointed out that the Polish economy remained solid despite the European debt crisis.

He expected Poland's gross domestic product to maintain 4 percent growth this year.
