Shanghai stocks closed higher yesterday, with the Shanghai Composite Index up 0.44 percent, closing at 2,827.63 points.
Trading remained low, with daily combined turnover coming in at 325.9 billion yuan (US$49.1 billion). Mining, oil and cement companies led the gains, while forestry and agricultural, and software companies lost. Shanghai Hongda Mining Co Ltd surged by the daily limit of 10 percent to end at 4.02 yuan. Inner Mongolia Eerduosi Resources Co Ltd gained 3.97 percent to close at 8.9 yuan.
