Site launch to boost robotics
SIASUN Robot and Automation Co, China’s biggest maker of industrial robots, expects annual sales of 1 billion yuan (US$145 million) from an intelligent production site that the firm will launch in the Lingang area in Shanghai, its senior official said yesterday.
The site, to be opened in June, will help projects set up by Siasun’s employees and researchers to create mass production solutions.
“They try mass production here, which will help the site generate annual sales of 1 billion yuan if it runs at full capacity,” said Yang Luo, Siasun’s vice president.
To boost efficiency and reduce repetitive manual operations, robots will be fully utilized on the production lines at the site to produce robots for industrial, service and military uses.
Under the 13th Five-Year (2016-2020) Plan, China aims to manufacture 100,000 industrial robots a year in 2020, up from 33,000 in 2015.
