YouTube to offer live TV service
AFTER many months of rumors, American video-sharing website YouTube finally announced its entry into streaming live TV service Tuesday.
The new service, called YouTube TV, will offer customers access to live content from several major broadcast networks including ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, as well as a number of local cable channels.
Previously, YouTube visitors could only watch video clips from those TV channels from a later time, but now for a monthly fee of 35 U.S. dollars, subscribers will be able to stream live content from those networks.
Another standout feature of YouTube TV is its cloud DVR system, which allows subscribers record as many shows as they want. Those content will stay in their saved videos collection for as long as nine months and won't take any storage of the mobile device of the subscribers.
The new YouTube TV service will be available to US customers in the coming months.
