Dongfeng Kia announces recall
DONGFENG Yueda Kia Motor Co is to recall 31,803 defective automobiles over defective rear traction rods, China’s consumer quality watchdog said yesterday.
The recall, to start today, will involve some of the KX5 automobiles produced between January 19 and June 21 last year, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said.
The rear traction rods are not solid enough to withstand shocks and could break up. The company promised to upgrade the defective parts for free, the statement said.
Dongfeng Yueda Kia is a joint venture of Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp with China’s Jiangsu Yueda Investment Co, Ltd and Kia, an automaker from the Republic of Korea.
