Fiat, Chrysler Poised To Meet Targets

FIAT and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said yesterday that the new auto alliance can achieve production of 5.5 million to 6 million cars a year after the economy and auto markets stabilize. Fiat and Chrysler brands were showing at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show for the first time.
Marchionne has said that threshold is critical for an auto maker's survival, creating speculation about whether Fiat was still looking around for other partners. Fiat made an early bid for Adam Opel GmbH but pulled out.
