Keen to go solar
CAR maker Chery Automobile Co is keen to buy into the solar energy business of Taiwanese LCD panel maker AU Optronics, Taiwan's Economic Daily said yesterday.
The move would enable Chery the first mainland entity to invest in Taiwan's solar industry, the paper reported, adding that chairman of the two firms met late yesterday.
The home-grown car maker recently signed a deal with United States electric vehicle infrastructure firm Better Place to collaborate on electric vehicle technology.
