Recall of 75,287 Chevy Sail over harness
SAIC General Motors will recall 75,287 Chevrolet Sail EMT sedans in China due to problems with the vehicles’ transmission harnesses, according to China's quality watchdog.
The recall, which will start on December 15, involves vehicles made from September 26, 2009 to March 20, 2013, according to a statement published by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on its official website.
Due to a problem with the transmission harness inside the affected vehicles, drivers may face system errors when changing gears.
This could result in the loss of power and potential safety risks in some extreme conditions.
SAIC General Motors, a joint venture between General Motors Co and SAIC Motor Corp, said it will inform owners of the involved vehicles via registered mail.
