Renault unveils Chinese-made SUV

RENAULT launched a domestically made Koleos SUV on the Chinese mainland yesterday because China “is no doubt the priority market” for the new model.
The new Renault Koleos SUV, costing between 179,800 yuan (US$26,415) and 269,800 yuan, is cheaper than the previously imported Koleos by around 25,000 yuan.
Renault has also added new technology to this SUV, including multi-media, eco mode, hands-free liftgate, and an 8.7-inch LED screen to meet the demand of Chinese customers.
“China is no doubt the priority market for the new Renault Koleos SUV,” said Francois Provost, president of Dongfeng Renault, the French automaker’s Chinese joint venture, during the SUV’s launch in Shenzhen yesterday.
He added the older SUV model is also sold in over 180 countries.
Renault is banking on the flagship SUV model to boost sales for the French automaker.
