Show unveils latest car trends, models

Visitors can experience the latest automotive technologies and car models at the Shanghai Pudong International Automotive Exhibition, which kicked off yesterday.
Around 1,000 cars from nearly 100 brands are showcased at this year鈥檚 exhibition at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, including new models, innovations in new-energy propulsion, autonomous driving and other trends.
Among the event鈥檚 major exhibitors are Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche and Tesla, as well as domestic automakers like SAIC Motor, Geely and NIO.
Organizers said the show plays a pivotal role in the east China auto market. This year is the fifth exhibition, which is held every two years.
This year鈥檚 event has a further mission of 鈥済athering industry forces, boosting consumer confidence and promoting economic development,鈥 according to organizers. 鈥淚t serves as a high-quality platform for exchanges and cooperation in the post-epidemic era as well as a good opportunity for consumers to learn about the world鈥檚 latest car technologies and achievements.鈥
The exhibition, running until October 4, is part of events in Shanghai for the national Consumption Promotion Month.
