Tesla to upgrade hardware
Following complaints from Chinese consumers that hardware in their newly delivered Tesla Model 3s was inconsistent with their orders, Tesla China announced it will upgrade the Hardware 2.5 version installed in some vehicles to the promised Hardware 3.0.
Tesla China admitted the error was due to uncertainty about its supply chain amid the coronavirus epidemic.
The company said it will provide free replacements once Hardware 3.0 units are available.
Consumers in need of service can make appointments via the Tesla service center.
The Tesla Shanghai gigafactory resumed operations on February 10.
