VW's Green Vehicles To Debut In 2013
VOLKSWAGEN AG yesterday said it will introduce Chinese-made electric cars as early as 2013, joining car makers in the race for green mobility in the world's largest auto market.
The German car maker said in its new energy vehicle strategy released yesterday that its green vehicle fleet would include an electric car developed on its Lavida sedan as well as a Blue Motion Volkswagen Golf compact.
The Blue Motion is one of VW's most important technologies which offeres greater fuel efficiency and less pollution with an improved TDI (Turbo-charged Direct Injection) engine.
"Our long-term goal by 2018 is to establish ourselves as the leading car manufacturer of conventional cars and environmentally-friendly vehicles," said Winfried Vahland, president of Volkswagen Group China.
