Volkswagen sales

VOLKSWAGEN Group China yesterday said sales of its imported models hit a new record of 21,760 units in the first half of this year.

The bullish sales more than doubled from the same period of last year, the German auto giant said. Volkswagen said sales increased after it introduced a string of competitive new models including the limited edition Touareg, New Beetle Black Orange as well as Eos and Scirocco 2.0TSI.

Weiming Soh, head of VW's imported car business, said the car maker vows to keep introducing appealing new models in the second half of this year to find a new niche in the world's largest auto market.
