Yes to truck venture

DAIMLER yesterday said its proposed truck joint venture with China's Beiqi Foton has won approval from -China's Ministry of Commerce, helping it boost presence in the Chinese market.
Through the JV, Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive, Daimler will gain a 50 percent stake in Foton Motor's medium and heavy-duty truck business.
Daimler will contribute technological expertise, especially in the area of diesel engines and exhaust gas systems, to help fulfill stricter emission limits in China.
