Foreign car component companies will not be allowed to have its share over 50 percent in a Chinese joint venture for making core spare parts of new energy vehicles, according to a revised regulation proposed by the National Development and Reform Commission.
According to the draft, which is being discussed, core spare parts include battery packs, cathode materials and electric controls.
The move is aimed at speeding up development of China's home-grown car components makers to form a stronger competitiveness against foreign rivals.
