Foton inks deal with Pakistan
BEIQI Foton has signed an agreement to export more than 2,000 alternative vehicles to Pakistan.
As part of a long-term strategic partnership with the provincial government of Sind in Pakistan, the group of natural gas buses will be used for public transport in the city. Under terms of the deal, Foton will also provide technology and service support.
Foton said the right-drive models can run a maximum range of 300 kilometers and are tailor-made for the Pakistan market.
The Chinese manufacturer of light commercial vehicles entered Pakistan in 2008 when it exported buses that could meet euro-V emissions standards. It will also start exporting 111 units of buses powered by natural gas to Pakistan by the end of this month.
