Wulin takes design post at GM China

WULIN Gaowa has been appointed the first design director of GM China Advanced Studio, effective September 5. She will be based at the GM China Advanced Technical Center in Shanghai, which opens later this month, and reports to Bryan Nesbitt, GM international operations vice president, Design.

Wulin, who was named one of the 10 Best Young Designers of China 2010 by the China Industrial Design Association, began her automotive design career with DaimlerChrysler in 2000. She held important design positions at the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center in Sindelfingen, Germany, and Italdesign Giugiaro in Moncarieri, Italy.

Wulin has a bachelor's degree in industrial design from the Central Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing and a master's degree in transportation design from Fachhochschule Pforzheim in Germany.
