Amway tops as employer as staff valued and happy

AMWAY China was officially accredited as the Top Employers China 2017 for the 8th time in the annual review by third party research firm Top Employers Institute earlier this month, thanks to its exceptional employee conditions and talent development programs through all levels of the organization.

It’s also the first time Amway was listed among the “Top 10 China Employers” and the second time it has received a certification for “Top Asian Employers.”

The award ceremony for the Top Employers China 2017 was held on December 5 in Shanghai, and the employer accolade recognizes outstanding human resources, talent management policies and the best practices of employers.

The Top Employers China certification is awarded by independent research agency Top Employers Institute, which carries out an in-depth survey of employee conditions across a wide area of HR annually.

“Amway has been striving to provide an exceptional working environment to attract and retain talents and to think truly from the perspective of each employee,” said Liza Cheung, vice president of human resources at Amway China. “It’s essential for us to create the best experience in every aspect to allow our employees to grow together with the company.”

Amway has been focusing on providing experience for consumers and unveiled its demonstration site in Shanghai in 2014 as well as setting up a digital platform to allow easier access to its product information and offerings.

Internally, the company has also been getting employees involved in strategic movements and key projects to allow them to be better informed about major events in the company. Amway adopted a number of measures to make sure it’s open and transparent toward employees. For example, Amway has set up a platform to collect feedback and advice from employees about major projects and evaluate their feasibility before carrying them out. Since July 2008, it has collected more than 38,000 opinions and suggestions from over 5,000 employees. The company eventually adopted 1,356 suggestions.

Its employee online learning center also allows digital access to training programs covering a wide range of subjects to enhance learning and work efficiency. It has offered 780 courses since it was launched half a year ago.

Amway has extended its beneficiary programs to not only employees but their family members as well and has been offering tailor-made care taking programs according to each employee’s different demand. Since 2007, it has been offering Employee Assistance Program to provide professional consultancy programs through third party service providers to help build a healthy physical condition and mind set for employees.

Amway also regularly offers lectures with topics ranging from health, nutrition, and wealth management given by professionals from all walks of life. Amway employees can also choose their commercial insurance policies for themselves and their family members according to their own condition and demand.

Since 2001, Amway has been awarded a total of 86 awards in the employer recognition area, including a number of prizes from human resource companies and hiring consultancy firms such Zhaopin.com, ChinaHR and 51Job.
