Carrefour to stay
EUROPE'S largest retailer Carrefour yesterday said it has no plans to exit the Chinese market, responding to rumors it might sell its business to China Resources due to huge losses in the first half of this year.
Liao Yan, the public relations manager of Carrefour China, said the speculation is groundless and declined to comment during an interview with Legal Evening News yesterday.
Hong Kong-listed China Resources, one of the biggest retailers in China, also denied they will take over Carrefour's business in the country.
