Eaton and Greenland to tap hotel industry
EATON Hotels International, a premium affiliate of Langham Hotels International, announced yesterday in Shanghai that it has signed a strategic pact with leading real estate developer Greenland Group to tap the Chinese mainland market.
Under the deal signed yesterday, the hospitality company will manage three new properties for Greenland - two upscale Eaton Luxe in Shanghai and one midscale Eaton Smart in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province.
The Eaton Luxe, Nanqiao, the first of its kind under the Eaton group, is scheduled to open in 2010, followed by Eaton Luxe, Xinqiao, and Eaton Smart, Honggutan, in 2011.
"We hope to expand our Eaton Luxe portfolio in Asia to about 10 hotels within approximately five years," said Brett Butcher, chief executive officer of Langham Hotels and Eaton Hotels International.
Shanghai-based Greenland, which now has nearly 40 hotel projects across the country, said it will add five hotels a year on average over the coming three to five years.
