WUJIANG City, which covers water town Tongli, is going to develop tourism industries based on the influence of the World Expo in Shanghai, city officials said during the Expo.
Tourism income has surged 30 percent annually in Wujiang in Jiangsu Province since the Expo opened a month ago, thanks to its "water town culture," said Wu Wei, deputy mayor of Wujiang.
In the first four months, Wujiang's industrial output hit 52.8 billion yuan (US$7.73 billion), up 18.5 percent annually.
