Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Accelerates expansion in China

FAIRMONT Hotels & Resorts, which operates 56 luxury hotels around the world and has more than 120 years' experience in the hospitality industry, will accelerate its expansion in China.
It will open at least four hotels in the mainland over the next two years - Fairmont Beijing, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake Hotel in Kunshan (Jiangsu Province), Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai, and Fairmont Haitang Bay Resort in Sanya (Hainan Province).
Fairmont Peace Hotel, due to open in 2010, will add to the international flavor of the hotel.
Together with the Fairmont Yangcheng Lake Hotel, which will open in September this year in Kunshan, Fairmont expects to tap business opportunities provided by the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, said Ian Wilson, Fairmont's regional vice president for Asia.
