Hotelier eyes more properties
RENAISSANCE Hotels, an upscale brand of Marriott International, yesterday officially started operating its fifth hotel in Shanghai.
The hotelier is pleased that one more hotel is flying the flag of the group in Shanghai and expects tourism to boom due to the Expo and the city's appeal, said Anthony Ha, general manager of Marriott International China, at the opening ceremony of the Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel.
The hotel is the 45th Marriott property in China where Marriott International aims to add about 10 more hotels to its portfolio this year.
Marriott International Management Co yesterday also signed a management agreement with Shanghai Lianshan Real Estate Co for Marriott Hotel Minhang.
