New 3M pavilion

3M yesterday unveiled an official brand pavilion on Alibaba’s business-to-business platform, the first of its kind, as the US giant seeks innovative means to target distributors and retailers.

Denise Rutherford, president of 3M China, said the pavilion partnership with Alibaba seeks “to leverage this fast evolving market in e-commerce.”

“We don’t view the launch of the top brand pavilion on as a conflict or as jeopardizing our business with existing traditional distributors as we seek every means possible to partner with distributors through multiple channels,” Rutherford said.
