Platform to share info on 50,000 companies
SHANGHAI residents will be able to search for information on 50,000 companies in the city to check on their credibility following the launch of the Shanghai Commerce Credit Platform yesterday.
The residents are able to access the information of the companies via the shcredit.gov.cn website. The information includes the companies’ license and track record such as awards or punishments, market ratings by industry associations like the Association for Pre-paid Cards, as well as ratings from third-party companies like Yihaodian.com.
The new platform, which aims to consolidate data from both the government and the market, offers market-oriented information to create a more comprehensive and more reliable credit rating system, said Shang Yuying, chairwoman of the Shanghai Commission of Commerce.
The platform is on trial and in Chinese now. Being the first of its kind in China, the platform may be copied in other cities to create a national platform.
The commission plans to launch an app soon for the general public. It also expects more companies, including foreign-invested firms, to be included on the platform and share more information.
