Reforms to boost consumption
CHINA will strengthen its efforts to shore up consumption and boost domestic demand amid lingering downward pressure on the economy, the government said yesterday.
Reform and innovation will be accelerated to help consumption growth, it said in a statement after a meeting of the State Council, chaired by Premier Li Keqiang.
The State Council agreed that authorities will widen market access for private investors and gradually reduce restrictions on foreign capital.
The government will also work to improve the business and consumption environment by strengthened supervision, and improving intellectual property rights protection.
