Steady rise in exports of food
FOOD exports in Guangdong Province in southern China grew steadily in the first 10 months of this year, thanks partly to the nation's tax rebate for exports, the local Customs said.
Between January and October, Guangdong exported US$3.59 billion worth of food products, up 2.7 percent over the same period last year.
In October, the province's food exports were valued at US$400 million, up 0.7 percent to notch an annual rise for the fourth month in a row.
The local Customs said the tax rebate policy that took effect from June 1 had offset cost rises, in part resulting from appreciation of the yuan, for exporters.
