SUNING Appliance Co aims to double sales in Shanghai in December from a year earlier through aggressive store openings, sharp price discounts and lucky draws to cement its position as the industry leader.
This will help it to lay a solid foundation to meet the goal of achieving annual sales of 10 billion yuan (US$1.5 billion) in Shanghai in 2011 with its 90 stores.
It will launch 72 stores this month to bring the total to about 1,350, including 25 in Hong Kong and eight in Tokyo, surpassing GOME to become the nation's largest home appliance retailer by store numbers.
