Taxi app offers insurance

CHINESE taxi booking app Kuaidi Taxi is giving free insurance policies to drivers around the country to cover losses from absence of work due to traffic accidents.
From yesterday to May 6, the app will give 100,000 insurance policies to taxi drivers using the Kuaidi app on their smartphones. The policies, offered by Taikang Life Insurance, will cover a period of three months.
During the period, drivers will receive compensation if their vehicles are damaged due to an accident or they are hospitalized because of it.
Taxi booking apps are seeking different forms of incentives to attract users after Kuaidi and Didi offered cash incentives to both passengers and drivers earlier this year.
