Bribe-taker guilty
LI Hua, former general manager of China Mobile's Sichuan branch, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve yesterday after being found guilty of taking bribes of more than 16.48 million yuan (US$2.57 million).
Li's personal assets were confiscated and he will be deprived of political rights for life, the Sichuan Panzhihua Intermediate People's Court ruled. Li took advantage of his post to help many other firms make illegal profits, and took bribes in return, the court heard.
