China's CPI up 6.2 percent in August
THE Consumer Price Index, the main gauge of inflation, rose 6.2 percent in August year-on-year, the National Bureau of Statistics said today.
The Producer Price Index, which is used to calculate inflation at the wholesale level, jumped 7.1 percent in August, compared to the year-ago level.
The cost of food soared 13.4 percent year-on- year in last month.
