China's Feb manufacturing PMI rises to 49.9%
CHINA'S manufacturing activity improved slightly in February thanks to increased output and new orders, and the economic operation shows signs of improvement.
Statistics have been newly released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the National Bureau of Statistics. They show manufacturing PMI for February hit 49.9 percent, up by 0.1 percent from the month before. The new orders index switched a six-month decline and hit 50.4 percent, up by 0.2 percent.
Specifically, the new orders of big firms rose by 0.8 percent, while the orders of small firms rose by over 3 percent, a prominent performance. Economists say the increase of new orders was driven by both the Spring Festival holiday purchasing and the government's policies for a steady growth.
