City offers awards to startup entrepreneurs

Shanghai kicked off an entrepreneurship competition today to attract professionals from home and abroad to start up their business in the city.
Winners will be awarded up to 50,000 yuan (US$7,870) and exempted from paying rents for their offices in industrial parks in Pudong.
People aged 18 to 45 are encouraged to submit their business startup plans to the office of the Pudong Youth League by November 16. The organizer will select 10 winners based on their business plans.
