Fair manages to draw more exhibitors
MORE exhibitors will take part in this year's International Sourcing Fair despite shrinking demand at home and abroad, organizers said yesterday.
The exhibitors will include six entities responsible for sourcing under the United Nations, as well as Royal Caribbean International and Costa, two cruise firms that are new to the fair.
"Although the global and domestic economic environment is not good right now, we expect the fair will be successful, and will play an active role in bolstering business," said Gu Jun, vice chairman of the Shanghai Commission of Commerce.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai city government, the organizers, more than 430 buyers from 25 countries and regions have registered to attend the fair, up from 350 in 2011. More than 6,000 suppliers are also expected to attend. The fair will be held at ShanghaiMart from next Tuesday to Thursday.
