Foreign debt up
CHINA'S outstanding foreign debt amounted to US$642.5 billion as of the end of June, according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchanges.
The amount rose from the US$585.97 billion recorded at the end of March and does not include the outstanding external debt of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the agency said in a statement on its website yesterday.
Outstanding medium and long-term foreign debt stood at US$180.4 billion by the end of June, while the figure for short-term foreign debt was US$462.1 billion, it said.
