GNP rises in Q4

HONG Kong yesterday said its gross national product in the fourth quarter rose 0.7 percent year on year to HK$453.6 billion (US$58.2 billion). The Census and Statistics Department said the gross domestic product in the same quarter fell 2.6 percent to HK$436.4 billion. For last year as a whole, the gross national product rose by 6.1 percent year on year to HK$1.76 trillion at current market prices.
