German Jobless Rate Rises
GERMANY'S jobless rate rose to 8.5 percent this month following a sharper gain the previous month, the government said yesterday.
The unadjusted jobless rate was up from 8.3 percent in January, when it rose by nearly a full percentage point - making clear the global economic crisis is having an impact on Germany's labor market.
The number of people out of work rose to 3.552 million.
