Government revenue hits 787.9b yuan
CHINA'S fiscal revenue increased 15 percent year on year in June, the Ministry of Finance said yesterday.
Fiscal revenue rose to 787.9 billion yuan (US$116.2 billion) last month with growth slowing compared to May, the ministry said on its website.
The slower growth was attributed to the relatively high comparative basis last year.
Fiscal revenue growth has dropped the past three months.
In June, fiscal expenditure increased 26.8 percent year on year to 812 billion yuan.
In the first half, fiscal revenue grew 27.6 percent year on year to 4.3 trillion yuan.
The economy grew 11.1 percent in the first half as economic activity picked up on government stimulus measures and the waning of the global financial crisis.
Industrial output and fixed-assets investment gained momentum in the period.
Tax income from companies, individuals, consumption and business rose in the first half.
Corporate income tax gained 18.5 percent on year to 808 billion yuan. Individual income tax added 22 percent to 262.5 billion yuan from a year ago.
Fiscal expenditures rose to 3.38 trillion yuan in the first half, up 17 percent from a year ago.
