HK sees easing in inflation pressure
INFLATION pressure further eased in Hong Kong as consumer prices last month rose 2.1 percent over the same month in the previous year, the city's Census and Statistics Department revealed yesterday.
The underlying inflation dropped from 5.6 percent in November to 4.6 percent last month after excluding the tax exemption measures. The department said the drop reflected the decrease or smaller increase in prices of food, package tours, private housing rentals, motor fuel and the fuel cost variation charge for gas.
