Inflation Rate Cools To 11.25%
VIETNAM'S inflation rate probably cooled to 11.25 percent in March as prices of housing and transport eased, the government said yesterday.
Last month, inflation was 14.78 percent. That's down from 22.97 percent last year ?? the highest annual inflation rate in 17 years.
Food prices rose 17.05 percent from a year ago, said the government, which issues the data ahead of the month's end based on estimates. Beverage and tobacco prices rose 11.68 percent, while textile and garment prices gained 11.17 percent.
