MACAU'S GDP reached 169.34 billion patacas (US$21.4 billion) last year, with per capita GDP amounting to 311,131 patacas, the city's Statistics and Census Service said yesterday. According to the figures, Macau's GDP rose 1.3 percent in real terms last year due to the impact of the global financial crisis. GDP in the first half of the year contracted 13.4 percent in real terms. However, due to surging exports in gaming services, the economy was back on track in the third quarter. GDP soared 27.4 percent in the fourth quarter, helping the economy expand 17.9 percent in real terms in the second half of 2009.
