Man Arrested Over Hacking Attack
HONG Kong police has arrested a 29-year-old man after hacking attacks on the website of the city's stock exchange curbed public access and led to government and criminal investigations.
The police seized five computers, two mobile phones and two digital storage devices on Thursday, Chiu Sau Mee, superintendent of the commercial crime bureau, said yesterday.
The unidentified man was arrested in Kwun Tong district for the offense of access to computer with dishonest or criminal intent, she said.
The man has been detained for questioning, Chiu said. Any person who has committed the offense of access to computer with dishonest or criminal intent may face a maximum five-year jail term.
